The weather here in Tennessee is very cold one day and then it warms up to the upper 50's and 60's F.
Ths is the cause of the recent tornadoes here in middle Tennessee. The weather is very unstable, which makes conditions right for tornadoes and severe storms.
On February 5th, there were a line of tornadoes coming through Tennessee most of the night one right after another. you weren't safe in any part of the
mid-state, as it seemed as if they were every where. As soon as one would go through, there were more coming. Very scary. There were 35 people killed that
night and hundreds injured. Along with hundreds of homes wiped out, most of them leveled. Devastation was every where. It looked like a war zone, when it
finally got light enough to see what had happened in 3minutes or less of the 150 miles an hour winds. There was a 23 year old young mother and her 11 month old
baby boy, who was in her vehicle going to her Mom's, because she had just talked to her husband, who was out if town on business. She had told him how
scared she was. he told her to get the baby and go to her Mom's house , about 10 minutes away. She didn't make it. The baby was blown around 200 yards
into a field, and the Mom was killed instantly. The baby survived with only scratches.
That is just one of hundreds of incidents that happened that night.
Every one has been really supportive with all the volunteer work, clean-up and all kinds of clothing, food, and financial aid as well as physically getting out
there and cleaning up all the debris. This is sad...because not only have so any people have lost every thing, some have lost their loved ones, too and have
to make arragements to bury their dead.
It will take months for this clean-up to be completed, maybe years.
We were really lucky to have been spared this horrible night mare. I am so thankful ......But some weren't so lucky!
